Manuel Oechslin is an Associate Professor of Economics at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. He studied in Zurich and Berlin and earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich in 2006. Before joining the Tilburg University, Manuel held a Visiting Scholar position at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Relying on theoretical as well as empirical methods, his research focuses on international trade and economic development, with a strong emphasis on issues related to income and wealth inequality. Manuel’s contributions have been published in the leading journals of the profession, among them the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, and the Economic Journal. Manuel has a rich teaching experience in areas like macroeconomics, economic development, and international trade.
